Terms, privacy & disclaimers

Last updated: September 9, 2026

This page governs your use of the website of the Tariq & Asma Farid Foundation at tariqasmafaridfoundation.org (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to what follows. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. About the Foundation and this Site

The Tariq & Asma Farid Foundation ("TAFF," "the Foundation," "we," "us," "our") is a private family foundation organized in the United States and recognized as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (EIN 46-3868042), based in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Site is published as a courtesy and for general information about the Foundation and the organizations it supports. It is not a fundraising platform, a financial or professional service, an application portal, or an offer of any kind. Content may be incomplete, out of date, or changed at any time without notice.

2. Funding requests, applications, and proposals

The Foundation does not accept unsolicited funding requests, applications, proposals, letters of inquiry, or solicitations of any kind. Our charitable giving is initiated at the sole and absolute discretion of the trustees, who identify and approach organizations directly. The Site provides no forms, applications, or submission mechanisms.

Nothing on the Site, and no correspondence with the Foundation or its trustees, officers, employees, volunteers, or representatives, constitutes an offer, commitment, contract, undertaking, or promise of funding, support, endorsement, or affiliation. Any support the Foundation provides is voluntary, discretionary, and may be declined, reduced, conditioned, or discontinued at any time. We do not guarantee a response to any inquiry, and we may decline to review or retain unsolicited material.

Please do not send confidential, proprietary, or unsolicited ideas, business plans, or materials. Anything you send us is provided on a non-confidential basis, and we assume no obligation of confidentiality, review, return, or compensation with respect to it.

3. No fundraising or investment activity

The Site does not solicit charitable contributions, donations, memberships, subscriptions, sponsorships, or investments from the public, and it does not process payments. Any reference to the Foundation's tax status is provided for identification only and is not tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice. Information on the Site is general in nature; you should not act, or refrain from acting, on the basis of anything on the Site without consulting qualified professional advisors.

4. Intellectual property

All content on the Site — text, photographs, graphics, logos, names, the "TAFF" mark, page design, layout, and code — is owned by or licensed to the Foundation and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial reference. You may not otherwise copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, modify, frame, mirror, scrape, or create derivative works from the Site or its content without our prior written permission. No license or right is granted by your use of the Site.

Copyright complaints

We respect the rights of photographers, writers, and other creators, and we make a genuine effort to publish only material we own or are licensed to use. If you believe something on the Site infringes your copyright or other rights, please write to taffound@gmail.com with "Copyright" in the subject line and include the page address (URL), a description of the work, the basis for your claim, and your contact information. We will review promptly and, where appropriate, remove, credit, or license the material. We prefer to resolve these matters directly and in good faith.

5. Partner names, logos, and photography

The names, logos, and images of partner and grantee organizations appearing on the Site belong to those organizations and are used with permission for informational purposes only. Their appearance does not imply that they endorse the Foundation, or that the Foundation endorses, controls, supervises, or is responsible for their activities, statements, programs, or use of funds. Photographs may be illustrative and may not depict a specific program, place, or person described nearby.

6. Acceptable use

You may use the Site for lawful, personal, informational purposes only. You may not:

7. Privacy — information we do not collect

The Site is a set of static pages. It does not:

8. Privacy — correspondence you send us

The only way to reach the Foundation is to write to us directly — by email at taffound@gmail.com or by post to the address in section 16. When you write, your message travels through your own email or postal provider and ours, and we receive whatever you chose to include. We use it only to read and, where appropriate, respond.

We retain correspondence only as long as it is useful to the Foundation or required by law, and we do not add you to any mailing list. We may disclose information where required by law, court order, or lawful request, or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Foundation or others.

Please do not send sensitive information about third parties — including full names of beneficiaries, photographs of identifiable children, identification, immigration or visa numbers, medical or health records, or financial account details. Send only what is necessary.

9. Hosting and server logs

The Site is hosted by a third-party provider that may automatically log standard technical request data — such as IP address, browser user-agent, referring URL, and timestamp — for short periods for security, abuse prevention, and delivery. The Foundation does not build profiles from these logs, and does not receive or review them in the ordinary course. Email we receive is stored with our email provider on servers in the United States.

10. Children's privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please write to us and we will delete it.

11. Your privacy choices; international visitors

Because we collect no personal information through the Site, there is generally nothing for us to access, correct, port, or delete. If you have corresponded with us and wish to know what we hold or ask us to delete it, write to taffound@gmail.com and we will honor reasonable requests to the extent required by applicable law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended. We do not sell or share personal information, and we have never done so.

The Foundation is based in the United States, and any message you send will be received and stored there. If you write to us from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection law may differ from that of your country.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and all content on it are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Foundation disclaims all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, currency, uninterrupted or error-free operation, and freedom from viruses or other harmful components.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall the Foundation or its founders, trustees, officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents, contractors, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, reputation, or other intangible loss, arising out of or in connection with the Site, its content, any correspondence with us, or any decision made or not made regarding funding — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Site shall not exceed one hundred United States dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Foundation and its founders, trustees, officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents, contractors, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Site, your correspondence with us, your violation of these terms, or your violation of the rights of any third party.

15. External links, governing law, and changes

The Site links to partner organizations and other third-party websites for convenience. We do not control, endorse, monitor, or take responsibility for their content, availability, accuracy, or practices, and following an external link is at your own risk. Their privacy and terms govern once you leave the Site.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States of America, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the Site shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Fulton County, Georgia, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.

We may modify this page at any time by posting a revised version; changes are effective when posted, and the "last updated" date above will change. Your continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of the revision. We may also suspend, restrict, or discontinue the Site, in whole or in part, at any time without notice.
